Research on the Path of Guiding the Innovation and Upgrading of Henan's Manufacturing Industry through Industrial Design

With the in-depth advancement of the new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation, the global industrial chain, innovation chain, and value chain are undergoing profound restructuring. As an innovative medium integrating technology and art, industrial design exerts a significant enabling effect in multiple domains, including process optimization, product iteration, brand shaping, and green development. In recent years, Henan Province has gradually advanced the "Design Henan" strategic layout and achieved certain outcomes, with rapid expansion in industrial scale, the number of carriers, and scenario applications. However, it still faces five major bottlenecks: insufficient original innovation, regional development imbalance, absence of leading enterprises, lagging digital and intelligent transformation, and a talent gap. Based on a systematic analysis of the internal mechanism through which industrial design empowers the manufacturing industry via the "Demand Traction-Technology Transformation-Industry Collaboration" chain, it puts forward recommendations such as improving the policy system, constructing high-energy-level innovation platform, promoting digitalization of design, cultivating high-quality enterprise teams, strengthening talent introduction and cultivation, and enhancing external cooperation, aiming to provide a useful reference for constructing a new pattern of industrial design in Henan and advancing the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry.
