Review and Reflection on the Research of the Hongqi Canal Spirit in the New Era

Since the new era, academic research on the Hongqi Canal Spirit has been progressively deepened. Scholars have generated a rich body of findings focusing on its generative logic, scientific connotations, contemporary value, and pathways for promotion—providing critical theoretical references and practical insights for the inheritance and dissemination of this spirit. However, a systematic review of these studies reveals notable limitations: rampant research homogenization, insufficient historical data support, over-reliance on single disciplinary perspectives, and limited academic and social influence. To advance the field, the academic community must address these gaps by: expanding the depth and breadth of research to enrich thematic diversity; integrating interdisciplinary theories and methodologies to broaden analytical horizons; strengthening the collection and archival organization of primary historical materials to consolidate the empirical foundation; and fostering specialized academic platforms to enhance the spirit's academic visibility and societal impact.
