Riparian Zone Function and Its Protection and Remediation Measures

Riparian zone has been defined as the transition area between aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. Compared with the waterbody and adjacent uplands, riparian zone is impressed by rich biodiversity and unique ecological structure. Riparian zone has considerable ecosystem services including runoff filtration, soil stabilization, water temperature regulation, growth and reproduction sites for plants and animal,etc. It analyzes the influence of human behavior on the riparian zone, and puts forward some measures to protect the riparian zone and restore the ecological function of riparian zone
