Abstract
Being a synthetic-analytic language, English verbs are strictly restricted by the inflections. This leads to nounal dominance and prepositional dominance. Being an analytic language, without the limitation of the inflections, Chinese verbs can be freely and frequently used. Verbal dominance is obvious, and prepositions are less used. The paper aims at discussing the classification and rules in the shift of English prepositions to Chinese verbs (and vice versa).
