Abstract:
Technological innovation and economic development exhibit a high degree of coupling and coordination, and the quality of economic development can be significantly enhanced through such coordination. It focuses on the coupling coordination degree of technological innovation and economic development in Henan Province. By integrating the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution, regression analysis method, and a coupling coordination model, we first construct an evaluation index system for technological innovation and economic development, then calculate index weights and coupling coordination degree values, and finally identify the indicators that significantly influence coupling coordination degree via regression analysis method. The results indicate that the coupling coordination degree of technological innovation system and economic development has evolved through seven stages, progressing from severe imbalance to good coordination, with both technological innovation and economic development levels in Henan increasing year by year. We propose the following recommendations: further strengthen the input-output capacity of technological innovation to activate the driving engine; continue to promote high-level opening-up and cooperation to address shortcomings in economic openness; and implement institutional innovation to enhance the role of the market, thereby fostering a favorable environment for innovation, entrepreneurship, and business operations.
