Abstract: Lv Benzhong was an important poet at the turn of the North-South Song Dynasty, his “Huofa”poetics changed the dull poetry style of Jiangxi poetic school. His poetics thought is reflected in three aspects: Firstly, he clarified the limitations of previous poetics theory; Secondly, he realized the unification of flexible thought and poem skills of “Huofa”; Thirdly, he pioneered the approach to understand and grasp the “Huofa”.
